The two South African Republic, one-penny carmine ('Disselboom') and the half-penny grey ('Vürtheim') postage stamps are tied by two Darkton double circle datestamp in black and dated 19th May 1895. These have 'Z.A.R. in the lower circle. This was the half oz letter rate to the British Isles from the 1st December 1892. On the back of this envelope are the following datestamps, Ermelo 20th May 1895, Johannesburg 22nd May 1895, Cape Town 25th May 1895 and an arrival for Wimbledon 7th June 1895.
