DORIS AND JOAN WARD

DORIS WARD AND JOAN WARD

After the War

Doris H. Ward (later Dodson) and Joan M. Ward (later Woolgar), probably taken in
a Kent/London park, the date unknown but probably just after the Second World War.

It is not clear if Alf was seriously ill before the lease on 2 Braganza Street had expired in the 1950s. However, Joan visited the Royal Courts of Justice, at an office near the ‘Bear Garden’, to seek legal advice. The result was that Hilda, Doris and Alf moved to nearby 64 De Laune Street, Walworth SE 17. The Ward family had resided in Braganza Street for almost seventy years, and had seen two World Wars and many changes with both the family and their local environment. Alfred Charles Ward died on the 26th of January 1956, Hilda Ada Ward during November 1958, Joan Margret Woolgar on the 17th of March, 2001 and Doris Hilda Dodson shorty after.
